Combi Oven Price in Singapore: Costs, Grants and Budgeting

• combi oven price singapore • en

The price of a commercial combi oven in Singapore depends mainly on tray capacity, the control system, the power supply and whether the unit is new or pre-owned. Because of this, there is no single list price. A business should request a quote for the exact model, then subtract any grant it is eligible for. This guide sets out what shapes the price, which Singapore grants apply, and what to include in the budget beyond the purchase price.

TL;DR

  • Combi oven prices vary widely by capacity (for example 6 or 10 trays), brand, control system and power type. Ask for a written quote that states what is included.
  • Enterprise Singapore lists up to 50% support for SMEs on combi oven purchases under its EDGE automation and digitalisation support. The equipment cost is capped at S$37,500 per unit under the PSG listing.
  • Budget for delivery, installation, water treatment, servicing and electricity, not only the unit price.
  • Non-household electricity tariffs rose by an average of 17.5% as of July 2026, so running cost deserves equal weight in the comparison.
  • Confirm grant eligibility before you order, because most schemes do not support equipment bought before approval.

What a combi oven is and who needs one

A combi oven combines dry convection heat with steam in one cabinet. A kitchen can bake, roast, steam, regenerate and hold food in the same unit, and set temperature, humidity and time for each programme. Restaurants, hotels, caterers, central kitchens and bakeries use them to replace several separate appliances.

The size of the business sets the starting point. A small café that mainly reheats and bakes may need a compact unit. A catering kitchen preparing several hundred portions per service usually needs a larger floor-standing model with a trolley or rack system.

Why there is no single combi oven price in Singapore

Sellers in Singapore list commercial combi ovens across a wide range. Many suppliers publish the price only on request, because the final figure depends on configuration, installation conditions and the support package. Domestic built-in steam ovens are advertised openly with fixed prices, but these are home appliances. They are not designed for the duty cycle, hygiene requirements or tray sizes of a commercial kitchen, and they are generally not what a restaurant or caterer should compare against.

When you collect quotes, compare the same specification each time. A quote that omits the stand, the water filter or installation will look cheaper than one that includes them.

Why there is no single combi oven price in Singapore

What drives the price

The following factors have the largest effect on what a supplier will quote.

Capacity and tray size

Capacity is normally stated as the number of trays or grids, most commonly using the GN 1/1 size. A 6-tray unit costs less than a 10-tray unit, and larger 20-tray models and roll-in models cost more again. Choose capacity from your peak service period, not your average day. An oven that is too small forces repeated batches, while one that is too large uses more energy per portion when it runs part-empty.

Control system

Manual controls with fixed dials are the simplest. Programmable controllers store recipes. Intelligent systems adjust cooking by sensing the load, and these sit at the top of the price range. The extra cost can be justified where several staff use the oven and results must be consistent, because stored programmes reduce operator error.

Power supply and heating type

Combi ovens are available in electric and gas versions. Electric units need an adequate three-phase supply in many commercial sizes. If your premises cannot support the load, an electrical upgrade becomes part of the project cost. Check the rated power on the specification sheet before you place an order.

Steam generation and cleaning

Boiler-type steam generators and direct-injection systems differ in price, steam quality and maintenance needs. Automatic cleaning systems add to the purchase price but reduce labour time and help keep the cabinet in good condition. Cleaning tablets or chemicals are a recurring cost.

Brand, warranty and local support

Price varies by manufacturer. Warranty length, availability of spare parts in Singapore and the speed of technician response all affect the real cost over time. A cheaper unit that is out of service for two weeks costs a kitchen more than the price difference.

New or pre-owned

Pre-owned commercial combi ovens are traded in Singapore and cost less than new ones. Two points apply. First, check the age, service history and the condition of the steam generator and door seals. Second, pre-owned equipment is usually excluded from grant support. The NEA states that used, leased or refurbished equipment is not supported under the Hawkers’ Productivity Grant, and a business should confirm the same point for any other scheme before it buys second-hand.

Singapore grants that can reduce the cost

Grant support can change the net price of a combi oven considerably, so it should be part of the comparison from the start.

Enterprise Singapore EDGE support

Enterprise Singapore lists the combi oven as pre-scoped equipment under its automation and digitalisation support, with up to 50% support for SMEs. Eligibility depends on the business meeting the scheme criteria, and the support applies to the qualifying equipment listed on the scheme page.

PSG listing for combi ovens

The GoBusiness directory lists the combi oven as a Food Services solution. It states up to 50% support for eligible SMEs, with equipment cost capped at S$37,500 per unit. The cap matters for large units, because only the cost up to the cap is counted. Scheme names and intakes change, so read the current page before you apply.

Energy Efficiency Grant

The Energy Efficiency Grant co-funds investment in energy-efficient equipment. The GoBusiness page states that it was extended for one year, from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. Check that page for the current terms and for whether the oven model you are considering qualifies.

Hawkers’ Productivity Grant

Stallholders in hawker centres managed by NEA or an NEA-appointed operator could receive 80% of the equipment unit cost excluding GST, capped at S$7,000, under the Hawkers’ Productivity Grant. The application window for that scheme closed on 31 March 2026. The same source excludes installation charges, additional parts and GST from the claimable amount. Hawker stallholders should contact NEA about any successor scheme.

Worked example of net cost

The figures below are illustrative only and do not describe any specific product or quote.

Item Illustration
Quoted equipment cost (before GST) S$20,000
Support rate 50%
Grant amount, if the unit is approved S$10,000
Net equipment cost to the business S$10,000

The grant covers qualifying equipment cost only. Items such as installation, extra racks or GST may not be claimable, so confirm the claimable lines on the scheme page before you build the budget.

Our own guides explain how these schemes fit together: the EDGE grant overview for kitchen equipment and the page on the Energy Efficiency Grant.

Conditions to check before ordering

  1. Confirm that your business is registered and operating in Singapore and meets the SME criteria of the scheme.
  2. Confirm that the specific model and supplier are listed or accepted under the scheme.
  3. Submit the application and wait for approval before you purchase, unless the scheme states otherwise.
  4. Keep the quotation, invoice and proof of payment, as these are normally required for the claim.
  5. Do not buy pre-owned, leased or refurbished units if you intend to claim.

Costs beyond the purchase price

The unit price is one line in the budget. A Singapore kitchen should plan for the following.

Delivery and installation

Large units must pass through lift and door openings. Ask the supplier to confirm delivery access, the use of a lorry crane if needed, and the cost of positioning the unit. Installation includes the electrical connection, water supply and drainage. Under the Hawkers’ Productivity Grant, installation charges are excluded from the claimable amount, and other schemes may treat them similarly.

Water treatment

Steam generation is sensitive to water quality. A water filter or softener protects the generator from scale, and filter cartridges need replacement on a schedule. Ask the supplier which treatment the manufacturer requires to keep the warranty valid.

Servicing and spare parts

Plan for annual servicing, descaling where relevant, and replacement of door gaskets and other wear parts. Ask what the warranty covers, how long it lasts, and whether labour and parts are both included.

Electricity

Running cost is where the choice of model shows over several years. As of July 2026, the electricity tariff for non-households in Singapore increased by an average of 17.5%, or 4.66 cents per kWh. At that tariff, the rated power and standby behaviour of an oven have a direct effect on the monthly bill. Compare the kilowatt rating, insulation, and whether the unit has an energy-saving mode.

Training and downtime

Staff need time to learn the programmes. Ask whether the supplier provides a demonstration or commissioning session, and schedule installation outside peak trading days.

How to compare the total cost of ownership

A simple method keeps the comparison fair.

  1. Choose a fixed period, for example five years, and use it for every option.
  2. Record the net purchase price after any grant, including delivery and installation.
  3. Estimate annual electricity use from the rated power and your weekly operating hours, then multiply by your current tariff.
  4. Add annual servicing, water treatment and cleaning consumables.
  5. Add an allowance for repairs and downtime.
  6. Test the result with a higher tariff and a lower utilisation rate to see whether the ranking of the options changes.

The cheapest unit at purchase is not always the cheapest over the period. A more efficient unit with local service support often finishes ahead where the oven is used many hours each day.

Our perspective

Most kitchens that contact us ask for the price first. We ask about the menu, the number of covers per service and the power supply first, because these three answers decide the right model.

Our focus is energy-efficient commercial kitchen equipment for food service businesses in Singapore. We believe a combi oven should be assessed on net price after grants and on running cost, and we help customers prepare the information that grant applications require.

Visit our showroom to see the equipment in person and discuss the capacity that suits your operation, before you commit to a quote.

FAQ

How much does a commercial combi oven cost in Singapore?

The price depends on tray capacity, control system, power type, brand and whether the unit is new or pre-owned. Commercial models are generally quoted individually rather than listed at a fixed price. Request a written quote that includes delivery, installation and the warranty terms.

Can I claim a grant for a combi oven?

Eligible SMEs can receive up to 50% support for combi oven purchases under the schemes listed by Enterprise Singapore and the GoBusiness PSG directory. Eligibility and conditions apply, so confirm them on the official page and apply before you buy.

Is a pre-owned combi oven a good way to lower the cost?

It lowers the purchase price, but you need to check the service history, the steam generator and the door seals. Used equipment is typically not supported by grants, so compare the net price of a new unit after grant before deciding.

Can I use a home built-in steam oven in a commercial kitchen?

We do not recommend it. Home steam ovens are designed for domestic use, with smaller capacity and lighter duty cycles. Commercial kitchens need equipment built for continuous service and standard GN trays.
